Press release for upcoming gala: On the MAP – our 10th anniversary and gala!

“MAP celebrates 10 years with a fun-filled fete”

(Providence, RI) The Manton Avenue Project (MAP) announces its annual gala and fundraiser, which will be a celebration of the organization’s tenth year serving young people in Olneyville through playwriting and performance.

“On the MAP! 10th anniversary celebration and gala” will take place June 2, 6-8pm, in Fête Music’s ballroom at 103 Dike St. in Providence.

This special, cabaret-style event will feature food and drink; getaway auction; wine pull; live music by Keith Munslow, the Ukulele Armada, among others; special appreciation award to Joe Wilson, Jr.; and performances of original works by MAP kid playwrights.

“The Manton Avenue Project is proud to present On the MAP!  and to be celebrating our tenth year,” says Executive Artistic Director Meg Sullivan. “For the past decade, MAP has been working to show Olneyville kids the value of their voices and, through our tuition-free playwriting programs, help young people in our community reach their full potential as creative thinkers and leaders.”

Proceeds from this event will go directly to The Manton Avenue Project’s programs and productions.

The Manton Avenue Project (MAP) is a non-profit organization that unites children living in Providence’s Olneyville neighborhood with local theater professionals to create original plays together.  MAP’s mission is to unleash the creative voices and unique potential of kids living in Olneyville through playmaking.  Each of MAP’s out-of-school time programs is focused on mentorship and bringing kids’ voices to the stage.
